We believe in the triune God - Creator, resurrected Christ, and the Holy Spirit - who calls us into relationship, and who brings about the creative and healing work of God in the world.
We believe that God is still speaking, still moving in our lives, and that we find God through engagement in worship and friendship, service and study, and learning to live in community as the body of Christ. We encourage personal journeys of spiritual discovery, affirming the guidance that there are no “tests” of faith. Rather we are shaped by the testimonies of God’s faithfulness throughout history, present in Jesus and now alive in the Spirit who calls us to Christian discipleship.
Jesus taught us that we are closest to God when we help others. “When I was hungry, you gave me food; when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink…” (Matthew 25). We are intentional about reaching out with care to others in our community and the world through hands-on service projects and generosity.
Since our founding in the 1600s, we have journeyed to become part of the United Church of Christ. We join with the UCC believing we are called to be a united and uniting church. “That they may all be one.” (John 17:21)
We journey together as the Holmdel Community UCC because here we are a community of love and acceptance, a spiritual home where we can ask questions and share life’s joys and sorrows.
